This special collection brings together high-quality research originating from contributions to ChemCH 2026 – Chemistry for Cultural Heritage, highlighting state-of-the-art chemical and material science research that advances the understanding, monitoring, and preservation of cultural heritage. The collection reflects the interdisciplinary yet chemistry-driven nature of the field, where analytical innovation and methodological robustness form the basis for informed conservation decision-making.
Scope and Eligibility
Submissions to the Special Collection must be clearly linked to a contribution presented at ChemCH 2026 (talk or poster). While the submitted manuscript does not need to have the same title as the conference abstract, there should be a clear and direct connection in terms of research topic, dataset, or overarching study.
To ensure transparency and facilitate the editorial process, authors are kindly requested to state this connection in their cover letter by including the title of the conference contribution and a brief explanation of how the submitted manuscript relates to the presented work. Submissions that do not demonstrate a clear link to ChemCH 2026 will not be considered for inclusion in the Special Collection.
Authors should follow the standard submission procedures of the journal and select the »Special Collection of Papers from the Chemistry for Cultural Heritage Conference, Slovenia, 2026« option at Collections during submission.
